Recipe: Savory Mushroom Toast with Cream Cheese

Some recipes are complicated. This isn’t one of them!

To prepare this easy and very tasty dish you need a good slice of bread, mushrooms cooked slowly in olive oil, something creamy, and that final drizzle that brings it all together.

Simple. Warm. And very satisfying.

 

Recipe: Savory Mushroom Toast with Cream Cheese
Ingredients
  • 1-2 slices of sourdough bread
  • 1-2 cups mushrooms
  • GOTA Cooking Oil
  • Cream cheese
  • Salt & pepper

Total Time: 10 minutes

Prep: 5 minutes

Cook: 5 minutes

1. Toast the bread
Heat a pan over medium heat, add a splash of GOTA Cooking Oil, and place the bread in the pan until it turns golden and crisp on the outside while staying soft inside.

2. Cook the mushrooms
In the same pan, add a little more GOTA Cooking Oil along with the mushrooms and cook them slowly until they soften, release their juices, and become nicely golden and full of flavor.

3. Assemble
Spread a generous layer of cream cheese over the warm toast and top it with the mushrooms, letting them sit naturally without worrying too much about perfection.

4. Finish with olive oil
Drizzle GOTA Finishing Oil over the top, then add salt and pepper to taste, finishing with an extra drizzle if you feel like it.
